“Wang” Dip: A Buffalo Chicken Dip for Any Party!

“Wang” Dip: A Buffalo Chicken Dip for Any Party!

As promised yesterday – Here’s the “Wang” Dip Recipe my mom shared with me.  I made it over the weekend to test it out – DELICIOUS!  This is a buffalo-inspired dish that will definitely be a party hit among the chili recipes and been-there-done-that dips at this weekend’s Super Bowl party! You can change up the recipe to alter the “hotness,” depending on your taste.  It’s also Gluten-Free (if you don’t use prepared ranch dressing)! Be sure to check out the “celery trees” instructions at the bottom to dress up your plate for a touchdown treat!

“Wang” Dip

1  can of “canned” chicken breast (big) (around 5 oz.)

2 – 8 oz. pkgs cream cheese @ room temp

¼ – ½ cup hot sauce (depending on your taste, more will go on top)

1  Ranch Dressing Packet (or 1 cup prepared ranch dressing – experiment)

1  1/2 cups cheddar (or more….)

  1. On stove – mix chicken & hot sauce together. Cook just enough to heat it up.
  2. Remove from stove – add 2 bricks of cream cheese & stir
  3. Add ranch dressing packet – stir
  4. Add 1 cup cheddar cheese – stir
  5. Sprinkle with hot sauce & a little extra cheddar
  6. Serve warm with tortillas, crackers, carrots, and/or celery trees! (below)

Celery Trees (15 min. or so)

1. Cut celery into 4 inch sections – discarding leaves/ends.

2. With a sharp knife, turn celery on end & slice little fringe-like cuts (the branches) down until you have 3. one inch left (the trunk). The thinner the tendrils – the more they will curl.

3. Place them in a bowl of ice water for about 5 minutes.

4. Take out of ice water & place on paper towels to dry.

5. As they dry, the celery will curl up into little “trees” that pick up more dip & create a cool display! (May take about 10 min.)
