The Drummer’s Salt ‘n’ Pepper Shaker: “The Pump & Grind”

The Drummer’s Salt ‘n’ Pepper Shaker: “The Pump & Grind”

I know a woman that has collected salt & pepper shakers her entire life, and a lot of her collection is on display in the Museum of Salt & Pepper Shakers in Gatlinburg, TN.  (Yes, such a place exists. There’s a sister site in Spain.)  I have a feeling she would be quite bored with this variety.  They have a cool function, but they aren’t shaped like little “his & her” toilets.

It impressed me, because I have a lot of Vic Firth Drumsticks, practice pads, and drumheads….. when I researched this product, found out VIC FIRTH has branched out from the percussion world & slapped his name on salt & pepper mills and rolling pins!

They are the “Pump & Grind” Salt ‘n’ Pepper shakers from Vic Firth Gourmet.  I discovered them at a rather old and traditional venue – The Hermitage Hotel in Nashville, TN.  I was a little shocked to see them with their brushed chrome exterior & modern gadgetry. (Now that I think about it, I was in the Country Music Capital of the world….so maybe they weren’t so out of place!)

Basically, you push with your thumb (like click ink pen) & a perfect little “shake” of pepper or salt comes out. It would be a great gift for a wedding, house-warming, a college kid moving into his/her first apt….. or for yourself.

Yes, we tested them out at the table on our plates quite a bit when the waitress wasn’t looking.   :)
