Salted Margarita Popsicles

Popsicles help make the South bearable.  After you try these popsicles, you might think they also make the world go ’round.  (ha!) Since my last post about homemade popsicles, the temperature has risen and caused me to do a full-on popsicle experiment to cool off.  (Click here for Rum & Coca-Kahlua Pops!)I am sharing one of my favorites from the research – the Salted Margarita Popsicle.


Salted Margarita Popsicles

2 1/2 cups of Margarita Mix (liquid)

1/3 cup Tequila

4 Tablespoons Triple Sec

1 Cup Water

Margarita Salt for Serving – I also used green sugar sprinkles for extra color.  It also added a little bit of a surprising “crunch.”



1. Mix together the first 4 ingredients in a bowl or pitcher.

2. Pour the mixture into popsicle molds.

3. Freeze for 4 hours or until frozen.

4. Sprinkle with salt and/or sugar before devouring.

5. Devour or savor!


Before-You-Freeze Garnish:   Add lime zest for a speckled look, or drop in a couple of thinly sliced lime wedges.
