Pumpkin Apple Spice Vinaigrette

Pumpkin Apple Spice Vinaigrette

When fall gets here, I go into “pumpkin mode,” trying everything that claims to have a pumpkin or pumpkin spice flavor.  Coffee creamer and hot tea are always in my autumnal ritual, but I’ve found pumpkin in tons of different concoctions over the past few years! I have even had pumpkin spice lotion in my bathroom.  Godiva makes Pumpkin Spice truffles that are dusted with cocoa, and pumpkin spice ice cream with Heath mixed in @ my local creamery is a must!  It doesn’t stop there…..Bless his heart – as of yesterday, my dog is eating a new variety of dog food that contains pumpkin & sweet potato! (Nature’s Recipe Dog Food)!

This year is no different – - a bottle of Pumpkin Apple Spice Vinaigrette practically jumped off the shelf & hit me in the face!  Where did I find it?  WAL-MART!  They have a section called “Marketside” in the refrigerated produce section that features dressings, homemade salsas, herbs, and pre-cut fruits and veggies. It’s a little sweet for my taste, but if you love raspberry vinaigrettes or dressings like that – it’s pretty tasty!

Happy Fall, Ya’ll!  :)

I also found this at Wal-Mart and bought a bottle. It is sweet for a traditional salad, but here’s what I use it for, which my whole family and friends now have as a favorite request at get togethers.

Gala or Fuji or your favorite apples (however many you want based on how many people you are serving)
Cut into bite size pieces (I don’t peel them but you can if that bothers you)
      Some chopped up celery
      Some chopped up toasted nuts

Mix all together and add some of the Pumpkin Apple Spice Vinaigrette

What a cool idea, Cathy! I don’t know why this wasn’t showing up!? That recipe reminds me a little of “waldorf salad” a side dish served in my family growing up! This would be a good way to make an autumnal version of the salad – that doesn’t have the dairy in it! Thank you for sharing! I still have some of the vinaigrette left in the fridge, so I will have to try it!

Hi Kami — yep, I grew up with waldorf salad myself; that’s where I got the inspiration. I like being able to leave out the mayonnaise for a fresher version (at least fresher to me). Love your site by the way!

I can’t find it at my Walmart any longer but when I could, here’s how I used it: sautéed Brussels sprouts, garlic, onions, and bacon hits. Then toss in chopped sweet apples near the end of cooking along with the salad dressing. Continue to toss. Then serve warm. Delicious!
