Ol’ Nuke’s Red Pepper Tea for Sinus Problems

Ol’ Nuke’s Red Pepper Tea for Sinus Problems

For the last few months, it seems like most everyone I know has had to battle a “crud,” “funk” or sinus situation.  I was immune for a while, but didn’t get left out by this “lingering” nuisance.  I am feeling much better, but it has taken quite a bit of time!  Because of the holiday season, I had to buck up & fight it the old-fashioned way.  A sweet someone brewed me a pipin’ hot (and I mean hot) kettle of Red Pepper Tea and made sure I stayed put, and now I am on the mend!   Tips on how to fight sinus problems and drainage….or whatever non-flu thing this is….: ~Get over yourself.  You can’t substitute any over the counter medicine for rest. Bullets Make Good Smoothies: Pumpkin Spice

Bullets Make Good Smoothies: Pumpkin Spice

If you don’t know what a Magic Bullet is, you’re missing out!  I hate cleaning a big ‘ol blender every time I wanna do something…. and I hate having to mess up more than one dish if I can help it. The Magic Bullet will mix your smoothie & let you drink it straight from the container – and it’s not as big as a blender! Pumpkin Spice Smoothie 1/2 a banana 2 heaping tablespoons of greek yogurt (plain or vanilla) 3 heaping spoonfuls of pumpkin pie filling (baking aisle) or your own mixture of pumpkin puree/spice orange juice and/or  almond milk (or real milk) – (See picture/caption below!)   SHOOT!  (just kidding – I guess it’s just “mix,” but I was still going with the bullet...

Starbucks Green Beans! (“Refreshers”)

Starbucks Green Beans! (“Refreshers”)

When you think of Starbucks, you most likely think of coffee, not green beans. They also carry various juices and teas, breakfast sandwiches, and cake pops to go along with their pastries.  Recently,  they have started offering something called a “Refresher” that is described on their menu as a “Natural energy from green coffee extracts – handcrafted with whole blackberries.” Green Coffee?  What? Green Coffee Extracts:  As they explain it – “all coffee starts off as a green bean.” They use green Arabica coffee to make these crisp, flavorful pick-me-up & quench-my-thirst treats. I decided to try one to get my coffee fix, fruit fix, and cool down.  I tried the Very Berry Hibiscus & it was great!  There are definitely berries floating...

Redneck Solo Cup Goblet: Unique Ways to Serve Summer Beverages!

Redneck Solo Cup Goblet: Unique Ways to Serve Summer Beverages!

I don’t know if you have seen the “Redneck Wine Glass,” but it’s basically a candlestick holder with a mason jar on top secured with  hot glue, super glue – whatever will make it stick.  I first saw them last year at a music festival being sold by a vendor for about $10.  They would be super cute for a picnic/outdoor gathering. Plus, if you keep the lid handy, guests can keep bugs out of their drinks! Just recently, I came across something similar, but possibly for “Dirt Poor Rednecks.”  It was just a solo cup glued to the top of a candlestick holder with some twine tied in a bow around the base.  It was about $14!  This is hilarious, because those glass candlestick holders can be bought for a $1 at your local dollar...
