Candied Bacon Recipe

The sweet, salt, and crunch of this accessory can turn a dish into something spectacular!  Whole slices, broken up, or hammered into bits could change the game for your entree!   Salads, sundaes, cookies, or snacks – – – it’s an all-purpose treat!


What you need:

Bacon Slices (however many you want) – Opt for the Maple kind if you want an added flavor! Gluten-free? Get GF bacon!

Brown sugar (1 TBS for every 4 slices)

A pan that is lined with aluminum foil.  (This will do a number on your pan if you don’t!)

Preheated oven to 400 degrees


1. Lay the bacon on the pan – close together so you don’t lose as much sugar.

2. Sprinkle brown sugar  – (see above ratio)  thinly covering them.

3.  Put in oven –  bake just until the sugar is melted – 5-8 min.  Monitor closely!

4. Add one more coating of brown sugar (1 TBS for every 4 slices)

5. Bake for 12 more minutes – until dark brown & glossy.

Let cool completely…… Don’t touch – they will be HOT!!!!!!  Do whatever you want to do with them!

Here are a few broken pieces sprinkled atop a sundae! Mmmmmmm!
