Redneck Solo Cup Goblet: Unique Ways to Serve Summer Beverages!

Redneck Solo Cup Goblet: Unique Ways to Serve Summer Beverages!

I don’t know if you have seen the “Redneck Wine Glass,” but it’s basically a candlestick holder with a mason jar on top secured with  hot glue, super glue – whatever will make it stick.  I first saw them last year at a music festival being sold by a vendor for about $10.  They would be super cute for a picnic/outdoor gathering. Plus, if you keep the lid handy, guests can keep bugs out of their drinks! Just recently, I came across something similar, but possibly for “Dirt Poor Rednecks.”  It was just a solo cup glued to the top of a candlestick holder with some twine tied in a bow around the base.  It was about $14!  This is hilarious, because those glass candlestick holders can be bought for a $1 at your local dollar...

‘Want Tina Turner Legs? Eat more “Greens!”

‘Want Tina Turner Legs? Eat more “Greens!”

Up until recently, I had never cooked “greens” before.  By “Greens,” I mean the mushy-looking green stuff in a bowl on the table at 75 % of the meals I had with my grandparents.  When people in the south say “Greens” a lot of folks are referring to collard greens, a staple in soul food.  However, my family, cooks mostly “Turnip Greens.” What’s the difference between Collard Greens & Turnip Greens? ~Both are from the cabbage family. ~ Turnip Greens are sweeter & Collards have a more bitter taste. ~Turnip Green leaves are a bit smaller & more tender than Collards. ~BOTH are packed with vitamins & are super-foods according to nutritionists. They are an excellent source of calcium. If...

Rosemary Grapefruitade

Rosemary Grapefruitade

When I eat out at a restaurant, I usually gravitate towards the “weird” items on the menu.  I enjoy trying odd flavor combinations, strange ingredients, etc. Recently, I found a new, refreshing beverage that hailed itself as “Grapefruit & Rosemary Soda,” but it wasn’t soda at all.  It was like lemonade – but with grapefruits…..and the rosemary provided a good kick….but there was no fizz, and that was perfectly fine.  I HAD to go home and recreate it. Rosemary Grapefruitade: 4-6 Ruby Red Grapefruits, juiced (plus some slices if you want to garnish) 2  4-inch Rosemary Sprig (+ more for garnish!) 2 cups water A Tea Ball or loose tea filter 1 cup sugar (You can substitute with sweeteners if you need...

Cheap Homemade Car Freshener

Cheap Homemade Car Freshener

I recently went on a road trip & thought I’d buy a “jasmine” car freshener in the shape of a little tree for my car from a sweet lady at the gas station.  Mistake.  Well, it wasn’t terrible – it just didn’t smell like jasmine, and I was disappointed.  It smelled like lotion/soap.  Since I have been on a few trips this summer, I decided to give the car a good cleaning out the other day, complete with a vacuum.  I wanted to add a scent, but I didn’t have time or money…… so I went to my candle drawer.  Somebody gave me a package of melty candle thingies, but didn’t give me the apparatus, therefore they are useless. …… until now! Glade scented oil candles are refillable contraptions. The...
