Boo Boo Bling: Really Makes It “All Better!”

Boo Boo Bling: Really Makes It “All Better!”

Recently I was visiting someone’s home, and she lent me a band-aid.  My flip flops, as cute as they were, had rubbed a blister on my toe.  She reached in the cabinet, and said “What do you want – Toy Story or Cars?” I picked “Cars” (I think), and quickly put it on.  It certainly did the job, but I noticed it looked like a sticker!  My mom even asked me, “Why do you have a sticker on your foot?”  I realized I probably have had 2 fun band-aids in my life – a hot pink one in college, and this “Cars” themed bandage.  How fun was this?! I can see how these colorful cover-ups cheer up little ones after accidents. That “Cars” sticker reminded me of another band-aid incident that...

Closet Organization: Wall Planters

Closet Organization: Wall Planters

How many times have I cleaned out my closet in the last two years? ……. Closet storage & organization is a constant battle for a lot of folks.  Don’t try to do it all at once, or you’ll set yourself up for failure, and continue to have the occasional “Closet Cleaning Weekend, a weekend that is much better spent doing something more fun.  Break it up into smaller increments and tasks.  This way you will get the space just like you want it, and it will be an inviting place.  This “Wall Planter Turned Scarf Holder” is a cool addition. Decorative wall planters are those “pocket-like” hanging planters that don’t necessarily have plants in them.  If you’ve got some around the house you’re...

Salted Margarita Popsicles

Salted Margarita Popsicles

Popsicles help make the South bearable.  After you try these popsicles, you might think they also make the world go ’round.  (ha!) Since my last post about homemade popsicles, the temperature has risen and caused me to do a full-on popsicle experiment to cool off.  (Click here for Rum & Coca-Kahlua Pops!)I am sharing one of my favorites from the research – the Salted Margarita Popsicle.   Salted Margarita Popsicles 2 1/2 cups of Margarita Mix (liquid) 1/3 cup Tequila 4 Tablespoons Triple Sec 1 Cup Water Margarita Salt for Serving - I also used green sugar sprinkles for extra color.  It also added a little bit of a surprising “crunch.”   STEPS 1. Fall in Love Again with Homemade Popsicles!

Fall in Love Again with Homemade Popsicles!

My momma used to make homemade popsicles using ice trays when we were a kid, and every now & then I get a hankerin’ for them.  I remember lemonade & grape juice being my two favorite flavors.  I got the hankerin’ last week after a long, hot run outside, & decided to do something about it! Why homemade popsicles? Popsicles from the grocery aisle have a lot of sugar.  If they don’t, they cost an arm & a leg.  With homemade popsicles, you control what goes in there! Don’t feel like you have to go get the fancy popsicle mold.  Seriously…. this is the first one I have ever owned.  You can get a regular ice tray, fill them up with a liquid, cover the tray tightly with aluminium foil, & jam toothpicks in there....

Storage Idea for Pots & Pans

Storage Idea for Pots & Pans

There’s almost never enough space for your pots, pans, & lids.  Even worse, they almost NEVER fit back in the cabinet the way you had them before you took them out…… Solutions: Hanging Pan Rack: Pros:  It utilizes vertical space that is wasted.  Also, you can get one of these with lights so you have extra spotlighting in the kitchen. Cons: Be careful – You have to get the right size or it’ll hang too low.  If you don’t have a high ceiling or an island in the kitchen – you’ll have to duck under the thing.  If you qualify for a hanging pan rack – go online & find one CHEAP.  They can get expensive. Do-It-Yourself Wall Hanging: Pro:  Cheap.  It also utilizes vertical space on your wall, and can...
