The recipe I meant to cook contained garam masala, a blend of spices widely used in Indian foods ~ Peppercorns, cloves, malabar,...

Happy Ash Wednesday! Ideas for Lent

Happy Ash Wednesday! Ideas for Lent

Yesterday in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana thousands of people ate, drank, and took being “merry” to a whole different level until the Quarter shut down at midnight. It didn’t just happen in New Orleans – they were selling king cakes at my local grocery store in Tennessee.  Traditionally, people use Fat Tuesday to get “bad habits” out of their system specifically the very habit(s) they plan on giving up for the season of Lent (Feb 22-April 5). I’ve heard of people giving up sweets, caffeine, & junk food, but you could tweak it however you want! You don’t have to do it in preparation for the Holy Week and you don’t have to “give up” something.  You could “start” doing...

Does your pet or family hang out in your car when you’re on the road?  If so – - your car totally counts as one of your “abodes!”  Every now & then I get the notion to clean out the car, vacuum it, etc.  I have used Armor-All, Clorox Wipes, Murphy’s Oil Soap, and other things – but recently I accidentally discovered something that does a noticeably great job & is CHEAP!  I could have sworn I had one of those products last night – but I was mistaken!  So I brainstormed….. I needed something to cut grease, disinfect, smell good, and not ruin my surfaces.  I even used this on the window’s where my puppy likes to...
