Be sure to check out the “celery trees” instructions at the bottom to dress up your plate for a touchdown treat!   “Wang” Dip 1  can of “canned” chicken breast (big) (around 5 oz.) 2 – 8 oz. pkgs cream cheese @ room temp ¼ – ½...

Raspberry Fireball Hot Toddy & “Hot Toddy Soup”

Raspberry Fireball Hot Toddy & “Hot Toddy Soup”

January is National Hot Tea Month AND National Soup Month!  It’s not surprising, because when folks catch a cold, sore throat, and/or cough during this time of the year,  those are the first foods/drinks they think of when the “funk” hits.  I’m sharing original recipes today that fit the bill for BOTH!  If someone is sick in your house or you are interested in warming up your body to ward off sickness, try these today!  It worked for my Granny who played doctor using home remedies like these on a husband, 4 kids, & 9 grandchildren! January 11th was National Hot Toddy Day, and I celebrated with a sweet, original concoction that certainly warmed my core. My mother celebrated  with something that is completely different with a host of...

“The Year of the Dragon” Japanese Dinner Party

“The Year of the Dragon” Japanese Dinner Party

Are you looking for ideas for dinner tonight or on a special night like New Year’s?  This can totally work for any day of the year! My New Year’s Eve tradition for the last few years has been to have a get together at my house that includes good food, good drink, and games – with an emphasis on the latter two.  As we tossed around dinner ideas for the special night, we opted for a “themed night” for two reasons:  One of my best friends Rachel gave me some beautiful sushi dishes I wanted to use & everyone on my guest list has been trying to eat more healthily. Remember that this site doesn’t contain unachievable ideas, super expensive solutions, etc.  I’m particularly proud of this one, because I’ll be honest – I have been nervous...

2012: “Do Something Fabulous Everyday”

I know people who make many resolutions and people who swore off of them years ago, both for a myriad of reasons.  This year – I didn’t make many….just one.  DO SOMETHING FABULOUS EVERYDAY.  It doesn’t have to be big, and it might be something that floats my boat & no one else’s! It could be something as simple as trying something NEW!  One of my favorites so far has been dropping everything I was doing to go have sushi with one of my best friends Laura, simply because I hadn’t done my “fabulous thing” for the day! Most recently, I started a blog.
